2 Weeks for Survey Lock and some other stuff!

Am I the only person excited about getting shipping supplies? 

Okay... its not an incredibly exciting update, but I like to share.

A bunch of shipping stuff arrived today. Easily enough to ship the first tier of shipments. Taking up all the space in our spare bedroom so hopefully no one requires it's use!

 And a sealer for separating all of your orders to keep everything coordinated for shipping(those are still only prototypes shown!).

An order of 8000 bearings we're supposed to arrive last Thurday, but Fedex dropped the ball and haven't delivered yet. I think Easter weekend set them back, the boxes are in Ottawa though(says the tracking). I'm hoping tomorrow.

Here is a little teaser of the bearing installer I made specifically for installing the bearings in the Fidgets(to save me from injury of installing thousands of these).

It still needs a couple of 3D printed parts, but for the most part, seems to work!

Finally, I should be receiving the samples of the injection mold fidgets soon, hoping for this week or next. Which will allow me to confirm the quality are up to standards and give the go-ahead for the remaining 15000 pieces. I will be speaking to the manufacturer tonight to confirm when they will ship the samples of the mold.

We're still currently on time with no anticipated delays at this moment!

Also, 175 of you(at this time) have not completed the survey, 95% of you have so thats good. Complete your survey, 5%.

At the Beginning of May I will be locking the Surveys, this is a 2 weeks notice! Make sure your Shipping Address, Billing Information, and Order is correct!

I will give more reminders before I lock them, I will also send out reminders when the cards will be charged on BackerKit.

BackerKit Surveys On Their Way!

Hey Everyone!

BackerKit Surveys are on their way!

Please keep an eye out throughout the day to make sure you have received it. The email will contain a special link so that you can provide us with the information needed to fulfill your reward. It is important that you fill these out as soon as possible.

You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey, just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’re all good to go! You will be able to answer questions about your rewards preferences, provide shipping information, and pledge for more “add-ons” if you'd like. You do not have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!  

If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it any time before we lock down the surveys for processing(End of April).  

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you will be able to recover your survey here: https://five-dollar-fidget.backerkit.com/.  

If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you would prefer to use, please contact support at https://five-dollar-fidget.backerkit.com/faq or message me on Kickstarter and we'll get you sorted out!

Hey All!

Very quick update.

The BackerKit Surveys have now been approved by BackerKit. Starting tomorrow I will be emailing out the surveys to you, the Backers. 

This is just a reminder!

I will be sending a second reminder tomorrow right before they are sent. This will inform you to start checking your emails for the Survey. I'm not sure how fast they will roll out the emails, so it might take some time after I hit send to get to you. They will be emailed to whatever email is associated with your Kickstarter account. If your Kickstarter account is signed up through Facebook, then it will be whatever email is associated with your Facebook account. If you would like to change the email that the survey is sent to, please send me a message on Kickstarter(some of you have already done so).

In order to ship your Fidgets, the surveys must be filled out. It is the fastest and easiest way to gather all of the required info and allow you to confirm your Add-on selections(and make more!). Please fill them out As soon as Possible. The deadline for the Survey is the end of April, but please do not wait that long. The surveys will also aid in making sure the correct quantities of colours are purchased.

If you have a general issue with using BackerKit and would like to provide your information another way, alternate options are available. Please let me know if this is the case.

Ceramic and Steel Bearing Compare!

Hey Everyone! 

I decided to do a quick video on the bearings and show some really non-scientific spin times. I will have an option in the BackerKit to fully clean the bearings of all oil, if that is something you want done, if you don't know what I'm talking about, watch the video.

You will see that the ZrO2 spin longer(30+ seconds longer), and these will be the bearings used for the ceramic ball bearing upgrade.  

Hopefully this should clear up any questions about the bearings. 

 As I say in the video, if you're just looking to fidget with it, steel with the oil on it are perfectly fine - its what I use. You can always upgrade later(install a different bearing yourself, or clean it) if you feel the need.

Please watch the whole video before asking questions, as they may be answered at the end.

 Thanks to all the backers we've done it!

That was fun!

Your part is now over! (Except for the surveys which will be rolling out once they are all finalized.) If you forget add-ons in your pledge - Don't Worry -  Any missed upgrades and add-ons can be fixed in the BackerKit survey. You do not need to message me, as you will be able to fix it yourself - of course you can message me about other issues. 

Time to get to it and get those Fidgets on their way to you!
